Description
This small Anagama vase is distinguished by its elegant elongated form, rounded body, narrow neck and subtly flared rim. Its light, balanced silhouette highlights the gradual shifts of colour across the surface.
Olive, warm golden-brown and earthy tones dominate the upper section, gradually deepening into richer browns and smoky hues toward the base. Darker vertical fire marks and areas of naturally formed ash glaze appear across the surface, while subtle throwing lines remain visible beneath the firing effects.
The vase was wheel-thrown from German clay and fired for 114 hours in the Karmazinai Anagama, reaching approximately 1300 °C, with no glaze applied beforehand. During the prolonged wood firing, flame and wood ash naturally formed the ash glaze, colour transitions and individual fire marks. The resulting surface cannot be reproduced in exactly the same way.
Height: 14 cm
Diameter 7 cm
The vase is suitable for a single flower, a slender branch or a minimal botanical arrangement. Its elegant form and naturally developed surface also allow it to be displayed as a small collectible work of ceramic art.
