Description
Šis rankų darbo Chawan arbatos puodelis sukurtas laikantis japoniškos wabi-sabi This handmade Chawan tea cup was created in the spirit of the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic, which values naturalness, asymmetry, and the unique traces left by material and fire.
Hira-chawan is a traditional wide and shallow Chawan form. Its open shape provides ample room for whisking Matcha with a bamboo chasen, while the broader surface allows the tea to cool more quickly. For this reason, Hira-chawan forms are traditionally associated with the warmer seasons in Japanese tea practice.
The surface combines soft cream, grey, earthy brown and darker smoky tones. Ash traces, fine speckling and irregular colour transitions developed during the firing. One side appears lighter while another carries deeper fire marks, so the surface changes noticeably as the cup is turned.
A small raised foot gives the cup stability and visually balances its broad form. The cup is comfortable to hold in both hands, while the wide opening makes it particularly suitable for preparing Matcha.
