Description

This handmade bowl is distinguished by its wide, open form and gently rising walls. Rich earthy browns blend with darker tones, subtle metallic nuances and lighter accents of naturally formed ash glaze. The organic surface texture gives the bowl depth and vitality, while its restrained form allows the visual character of the Anagama firing to take centre stage.

The bowl was fired for more than 100 hours in the Dūkštos Anagama wood-fired high-temperature kiln. During the long firing, wood ash carried by the flames melted naturally onto the surface, forming an ash glaze, colour transitions and distinctive flame marks. Every Anagama-fired piece is one of a kind and can never be reproduced in exactly the same way.
