Description

This Anagama vase is distinguished by its full rounded form, gently narrowing shoulders and short neck. Its calm silhouette provides a canvas for an expressive surface where pale cream and ochre tones meet earthy browns, reddish hues and deep charcoal markings.
Particularly striking are the dark diagonal fire marks crossing the body of the vase. They contrast with lighter areas of naturally formed ash glaze, fine ash deposits and varied surface textures. The balance of colour and markings changes around the vessel, allowing each side to reveal a different composition.
The vase was wheel-thrown from German clay with granite inclusions and fired for 114 hours in the Karmazinai Anagama, reaching approximately 1300 °C, with no glaze applied beforehand. During the prolonged wood firing, flame and wood ash naturally formed the ash glaze, colour transitions and individual fire marks. The resulting surface cannot be reproduced in exactly the same way.

Height: 20 cm

The vase is suitable for floral or branch arrangements, while its expressive surface also allows it to stand as an independent collectible work of ceramic art.
