Description
This small Anagama vase has an elegant teardrop-shaped silhouette, with a rounded body, narrow neck and subtly flared rim. Its restrained proportions allow the naturally developed surface to become the main visual focus.
Warm earthy browns, smoky greys and soft golden tones move across the surface. Some areas remain matte and gently textured, while naturally formed ash glaze introduces a subtle sheen elsewhere. Colour transitions and individual fire marks vary around the vase, revealing a different composition as the piece is turned.
The vase was wheel-thrown from German clay and fired for 114 hours in the Karmazinai Anagama, reaching approximately 1300 °C, with no glaze applied beforehand. During the prolonged wood firing, flame and wood ash naturally formed the ash glaze, colour transitions and individual fire marks. The resulting surface cannot be reproduced in exactly the same way.
Height: 17,5 cm
Diameter: 8 cm
Weight: 360 g
The vase is suitable for a single flower, a slender branch or a small botanical arrangement. Its elegant proportions and naturally developed surface also make it beautiful when displayed on its own.
