Description
This small Anagama vase has an elegant elongated form, a narrower neck and a subtly flared rim. Its restrained silhouette allows the naturally developed surface to become the main visual focus.
Pale sand, ash and soft grey tones dominate the upper section, scattered with darker speckling. Toward the base, the surface gradually shifts into richer earthy browns and smoky hues. In some areas, naturally formed ash glaze creates a gentle sheen, while elsewhere the surface remains matte and granular. These changes in colour and texture give each side of the vase a different appearance.
The vase was wheel-thrown from German clay and fired for 114 hours in the Karmazinai Anagama, reaching approximately 1300 °C, with no glaze applied beforehand. During the prolonged wood firing, flame and wood ash naturally formed the ash glaze, colour transitions and individual fire marks. The resulting surface cannot be reproduced in exactly the same way.
Height: 15 cm
Diameter 9 cm
Weight: 510 g
The vase is suitable for a single flower, a small branch or a minimal botanical arrangement. It can also be displayed on its own as a small collectible work of ceramic art.
