Description

This small Anagama vase has a compact elongated form, narrowing at the neck and opening into a gently flared rim. Horizontal throwing lines remain clearly visible, emphasising the shape of the vessel.
Warm brown, reddish-brown, ochre and smoky grey tones move across the surface. In some areas, wood ash melted naturally into ash glaze, creating subtle transitions between matte and gently lustrous surfaces. Colour and fire marks vary around the vase, revealing a different surface pattern as the piece is turned.
The vase was wheel-thrown from German clay and fired for 114 hours in the Karmazinai Anagama, reaching approximately 1300 °C, with no glaze applied beforehand. During the prolonged wood firing, flame and wood ash naturally formed the colour transitions, ash glaze and individual fire marks. The resulting surface cannot be reproduced in exactly the same way.

Height: 12 cm
Diameter 8,5 cm
Weight: 830 g

The vase is suitable for a single flower, a small branch or a dried botanical arrangement. Its visible throwing lines and varied surface also make it attractive when displayed on its own.
