Description
This tiny Anagama vase has a compact rounded form with a narrow, slightly irregular neck. Its small scale draws attention to the richly textured surface and the visible effects of prolonged wood firing.
Deep charcoal, smoky grey, earthy brown and muted mineral tones move across the surface. Wood ash settled naturally during the firing and melted in places, forming irregular ash glaze, fine mineral speckling and rugged textures. Some areas remain matte, while others develop a subtle sheen. As the vase is turned, different combinations of colour and texture come into view.
The vase was fired in the Dūkštos Anagama, where flame, wood ash and high temperature naturally shaped its surface. These effects cannot be reproduced exactly, so every Anagama-fired piece develops differently.
Height: 8 cm
Diameter 6 cm
The vase is suitable for a single small flower, a delicate branch or a dried botanical arrangement. Its compact scale and richly textured surface also make it attractive when displayed on its own.
