Description
This small Anagama vase has an elongated rounded form and a short straight neck. Its restrained silhouette and gentle proportions allow the subtle but unusual colour transitions of the surface to become the main visual focus.
Reddish-brown, muted pink and soft grey tones dominate the surface, complemented in places by naturally formed golden and ochre areas of ash glaze. The finish shifts from matte to gently lustrous, while the uneven distribution of colour and ash markings gives each side of the vase a different appearance.
The vase was wheel-thrown from German clay and fired for 114 hours in the Karmazinai Anagama, reaching approximately 1300 °C, with no glaze applied beforehand. During the prolonged wood firing, flame and wood ash naturally formed the ash glaze, colour transitions and individual fire marks. The resulting surface cannot be reproduced in exactly the same way.
Height: 20 cm
Diameter 11 cm
Weight: 630 g
The vase is suitable for a single flower, a slender branch or a small botanical arrangement. Its elegant proportions and naturally developed surface also make it beautiful when displayed on its own.
