Description
This handmade cup is distinguished by its rich, naturally formed surface, where charcoal black, warm brown, bronze and subtle golden tones blend together. Its softly rounded form, comfortable handle and raised foot give the piece a balanced, sculptural presence.
The cup was fired for more than 100 hours in the Dūkštos Anagama wood-fired high-temperature kiln. During the firing, wood ash carried by the flames naturally melted onto the surface, forming an ash glaze, varied textures and distinctive flame marks. The surface and colour of every Anagama-fired piece are unique and can never be reproduced in exactly the same way.
Comfortable to hold and suitable for coffee or tea, it can also be appreciated as a unique collectible ceramic piece.
