Description

This small porcelain Anagama vase is distinguished by its softly rounded form, short narrow neck and calm, balanced proportions. The pale porcelain body provides a refined background for the subtle colour and surface variations created during the firing.
Creamy white tones are enriched by delicate golden, honey and ochre nuances. In some areas, naturally formed ash glaze gathers into more glass-like passages and fine vertical runs, bringing movement and a painterly quality to the surface. Warmer fire tones near the lower body create a subtle contrast with the luminous porcelain.
The vase was fired for 114 hours in the Karmazinai Anagama, reaching approximately 1300 °C, with no glaze applied beforehand. During the prolonged wood firing, flame and wood ash naturally formed the ash glaze, colour transitions and individual fire marks. These processes give the piece a singular character that can never be reproduced in exactly the same way.

Height: 10 cm

The vase is suitable for a single flower, a small branch or a minimal botanical arrangement. The combination of luminous porcelain and naturally formed ash glaze also allows it to stand as a small collectible work of ceramic art.
