Description

This small porcelain Anagama vase is distinguished by its softly rounded form, narrow neck and calm, balanced silhouette. The pale porcelain body provides a striking background for deep smoky greys, charcoal and earthy brown tones formed during the prolonged wood firing.
Fine ash speckling, mineral deposits and subtle colour transitions animate the surface. Darker smoky tones dominate the upper body, while the lower section reveals more of the pale porcelain together with reddish and earthy fire marks. This contrast between light and dark gives the small vase remarkable visual depth and presence.
The vase was fired for 114 hours in the Karmazinai Anagama, reaching approximately 1300 °C. During the prolonged firing, flame and wood ash naturally shaped the surface colours, ash glaze and individual fire marks. Each side records the firing differently, giving the piece a surface that can never be reproduced in exactly the same way.

Height: 10 cm

The vase is suitable for a single flower, a small branch or a minimal botanical arrangement. The contrast between luminous porcelain and the atmospheric Anagama surface also allows it to stand as a small collectible work of ceramic art.
