Description
This rounded stoneware tea cup has a handleless form that gently opens toward the rim and rests on a small raised foot. Its light, balanced proportions make it comfortable to hold in both hands.
Soft grey, cream and sandy tones dominate the surface, accompanied in places by subtle brown and smoky nuances. During the wood firing, ash settled naturally onto the surface and melted at high temperature, forming a natural ash glaze. The ash accumulated unevenly, creating lighter bands, delicate runs and subtle variations in texture around the cup.
The cup was wood-fired at approximately 1300 °C. Flame direction, ash accumulation and the cup’s position inside the kiln all influenced the final surface, making the resulting combination of colour and texture impossible to reproduce exactly.
Height: 8 cm
Diameter: 11,5 cm
The cup is suitable for tea and other hot drinks. Its handleless form encourages it to be filled approximately one-third full and held in both hands, inviting a slower and more attentive way of enjoying tea.
